A Different Vision 2019

A Different Vision is a juried exhibition at Plymouth Center for the Arts (11 North Street, Plymouth, MA) running June 20 - July 28, 2019. This is the fourth presentation of this exhibition, which is specifically designed for visually impaired visitors but available to all. The exhibition features sculptures, fabric art, pottery, and other 3D art forms that visitors can touch and experience.

The exhibition is open to all sighted and non-sighted artists. Eligible work includes sculptures, assemblages, pottery, fiber art, reliefs, kinetic art, wall hangings, woodworks, textured canvas, interactive art, and other three-dimensional mediums. Artwork must be visually appealing and engaging for the blind with no sharp edges. Work must be original, sturdy enough to withstand repeated handling, and not exceed 48 inches in any dimension. All 2-D work must be framed, fully dry, signed, and properly wired for hanging. Work must be accompanied by an artist's statement (50 words maximum) and labeled on the back with artist's name, title, and medium.

Entry fee is $15 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. There is no limit to the number of entries per artist. Submissions open March 1, 2019 with a deadline of May 10, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Judging occurs May 11-14, 2019, with acceptance announcements on May 15, 2019. Awards include First Place ($150), Second Place ($100), Third Place ($50), and two Honorable Mentions. Drop-off is June 16-17, 2019, with opening reception on June 20, 2019 at 6-8 p.m. Pick-up is July 28-29, 2019. The Plymouth Guild encourages sales with a 30% commission for Guild members and 40% for non-members. All work is submitted at the artist's risk; the exhibition is not covered by insurance.
