A Climate of Change

A Climate of Change is a juried exhibition at Kahilu Theatre's Kohala Gallery, running April 7th through June 2nd, 2017. Artists are asked to enter work that responds to the title of the exhibit. Responses dealing with environmental, political and social change are encouraged but not required.

Eligibility: The exhibition accepts 2D, 3D and video works completed since January 1st, 2013 by artists currently residing in the State of Hawai'i. Work executed under classroom/educational guidance or external supervision is not eligible. All works must be no larger than 50" x 50" x 50". Artwork must be ready for installation and professionally presented (2D must be framed or mounted with hanging hardware; 3D work must have clear installation instructions). Submission fee is $35.00 per entry; up to five works per artist may be submitted. Proposals are accepted through CallForEntry.org from January 4th through March 13th, 2017.

Awards: First Place $300, Second Place $200, Third Place $100. The exhibition is juried by Michael Marshall, Department Chair of University of Hawai'i at Hilo Art Department. Notification of accepted works will be sent March 23rd, 2017. Artwork arrival at Kahilu Theatre is April 3rd, 2017. Opening Reception is April 7th, 4:30-7:00 pm. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label, UPS or FedEx account number or credit card information for return shipping.
