About This Call
This is a juried competition for dry pastel artwork. Awards include Prix de Pastel ($2,000), Gold Award ($1,000), Silver Award ($600), Bronze Award ($400), and four Awards of Excellence ($200 each).
Artwork Requirements: Works must be in dry pastel with a minimum of 80% dry pastel as the final surface. Oil pastels are not permitted. Mixed media must be predominantly (80%) dry pastel. All artwork must be original and not copied from other artists or published materials. Work must be originally drawn and not created on top of a base photo or print. All work must have been created within the last two years. Works done under supervision (such as in a workshop or class) are not eligible. Work may not have been accepted in any previous IAPS Exhibitions (this does not include IAPS Member Society shows). Work may be for sale or marked NFS. Paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance.
Submission Requirements: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files only. Images should be at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to include only the artwork itself with no visible matting, frames, or background. Ensure images are oriented correctly and use the sRGB color profile for best results. Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline. After submission and payment, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images until the deadline. Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline, and incomplete entries will be disqualified. For questions about the prospectus, eligibility, or artwork requirements, contact Red Weber.
