9th Annual Impressions: Small Works Showcase

This exhibition is open to current or new paid members of AIS who are legal US residents. Membership dues of $65 must be paid prior to entering. Artists may submit up to three paintings, with a maximum of one painting per artist accepted into the show.

Eligible media includes oil, oil sticks, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, casein, gouache, and egg tempera. Mixed media, collage, photography, digital work, oil pastels, colored pencils, and reproductions are not accepted. Work must be original in concept and execution, impressionistic in style, and completed within the last three years. Work created in any class or under instructor guidance is not eligible. Paintings must be created from the artist's own photographs and must not violate copyrights. Diptychs, triptychs, and multiple panels are not accepted. Previously exhibited work in AIS shows is not eligible, though rejected work from previous AIS shows may be resubmitted if it meets current requirements.

Work must be suitably framed in fine art gallery-quality wood frames, wired and ready for hanging. Metal frames, gallery wrap canvases, and sawtooth hangers are not acceptable; floater frames are acceptable. Maximum size (excluding frame) is 192 square inches with a maximum length of 16 inches on the longest side. Minimum size is 35 square inches. All work must be for sale and priced according to the artist's standard pricing structure. The artist receives 60% of sales, with Fallbrook Art Center receiving 40%. Entry fees are $35 for one painting, $45 for two paintings, and $55 for three paintings. Entry fees are nonrefundable. Submit high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB.
