About This Call
The Plymouth Guild invites photographers and artists to submit work for the 9th Annual Fine Art of Photography Open Competition & Exhibition. This international, open competition is not limited to members. All work must be for sale.
Three categories are accepted: Color Photography, Black & White Photography, and Non-Traditional Photography (including digitally enhanced work, vintage and alternative printing processes, and pinhole/plastic camera imagery). Judges have final determination of appropriate category placement. Entry fee is $15.00 for the first image and $10.00 per additional image, with a maximum of 15 images per artist. Only one image per artist will be accepted for the exhibition, and only one award per artist will be given. Awards include $500 Best in Show, $250 First Place, $100 Second Place, and at least two Honorable Mentions per category.
Digital submissions are accepted through CaFÉ from February 10th through March 17th. Selected artists will be notified by April 1st. Accepted work must be framed, wired, and ready for hanging (not exceeding 48" in any direction). Drop-off and registration occurs April 27th (9 am-12 pm) and April 28th (4 pm-7 pm). The exhibition runs May 5th through June 15th, with an opening reception and awards ceremony on May 4th at 7 pm. The Plymouth Guild receives a commission on all sales: 30% from members, 40% from non-members. Work is submitted at the artist's risk; the Plymouth Guild is not responsible for fire, theft, loss, or damage.
