99 Voices in Pastel

This is a juried pastel exhibition open to artists over 18 years old. Submissions must be entirely original work completed within the last 3 years, using at least 80% dry pastel (no oil pastels). Artists must use only their own reference photos and cannot use optical projections, digital assistance, or work produced under instructor supervision. Paintings of nudes are considered, with appropriateness for online display evaluated by the jury.

Eligibility requirements include that work cannot have won any award in a national or international open juried pastel show (or the PSWC MOOS) by the submission deadline. Work cannot be exhibited concurrently in any other national or international open juried pastel show. A maximum of one painting per artist will be accepted into the exhibit. Entry fees are $60 for 3 entries, with each additional entry at $15 up to 5 paintings for $90. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Accepted works must be framed with white, off-white, tan, beige, black, or gray mats and simple frames (no ornate, bright, or carved frames). Frames must use Plexiglass only and be fitted with picture hanging wire or D rings—no sawtooth hangers. Artists may ship using an Airfloat Systems or Uline Deluxe Artwork Shipper box, or deliver directly to the Brea Gallery. A shipping agent fee of $60 applies if using the shipping service. Artists are responsible for insuring their work during transit. The gallery will require a formal loan agreement for accepted work. Submissions must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, with a maximum file size of 30 MB, showing only the artwork without matting, frames, or background.
