97th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Muskegon Museum of Art invites artists 18 years or older residing in Michigan to submit work for the 97th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition. The exhibition runs September 18 – November 19, 2025.

Each artist may submit up to two original works in any medium completed within the last two years and not previously exhibited at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Video and performance are not eligible. Commercial reproductions, including giclée prints, are not accepted. Traditional print media, photography, and digital art must be from a limited edition. Wall-mounted pieces may not exceed 6 feet wide by 12 feet high. Three-dimensional standing pieces may not exceed 10 feet high by 6 feet by 6 feet. Only work easily handled by two people will be accepted. All works must be ready for presentation: hanging works should be framed with wire or D-Rings, entries must be dry and completely assembled, and all works on paper must be framed and glazed.

Entry fee is $35 ($20 for MMA Members). Digital entry is through the CallForEntry website. The deadline for entry is July 11, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of jury results by email no later than August 1, 2025. Accepted work may be delivered by hand September 4-6, 2025 (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.) or shipped to arrive by September 5, 2025. Prizes include Best of Show ($1,500), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750). All accepted work is eligible for sale through the MMA Store with a 30% commission.
