96th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Muskegon Museum of Art invites artists 18 years or older residing in Michigan to submit work for the 96th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition, running September 18 – November 19, 2025. Artists may submit up to two original works completed in the last two years that have not been previously exhibited at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Video and performance are not eligible. Commercial reproductions, including giclée prints, will not be accepted. Traditional print media, photography, and digital art should be from a limited edition.

Wall-mounted pieces may not exceed 6 feet wide by 12 feet high. Three-dimensional standing pieces may not exceed 10 feet high by 6 feet by 6 feet. Only work easily handled by two people will be accepted. All works must be ready for presentation: hanging works should be framed with wire or D-Rings, entries must be dry and completely assembled, and all works on paper must be framed and glazed. The entry fee is $35 ($20 for MMA Members). Digital entry is through the CallForEntry website. The deadline for entry is July 11, 2025. Artists will be notified of jury results by email no later than August 1, 2025.

Accepted artwork must be delivered to the Muskegon Museum of Art (296 W Webster Ave, Muskegon, MI 49440) on September 4, 5, or 6 between 11 AM and 4 PM, or shipped to arrive by Friday, September 5. All packing and shipping costs are the artist's responsibility. Prizes include Best of Show ($1,500), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750). All accepted work is eligible for sale through the MMA Store with a 30% commission. Accepted entries must remain in the exhibition through November 19, 2025. In-person pickup is available November 20-22, with shipped artworks returning beginning November 21. Works not picked up by January 16, 2026 will be considered abandoned.
