About This Call
The Toledo Museum of Art invites artists to submit work for the 95th Annual Toledo Area Artists Exhibition. Any artist currently living within a 150-mile radius of the Toledo Museum of Art is eligible. The entry fee is $30.00.
Artists should submit a digital portfolio of up to 10 images (inclusive of detail shots, installation views, video clips, etc.), along with a CV and artist statement. Artworks submitted must be made in the last seven years and must faithfully correspond to the images provided. Submitted digital images will be retained by the Museum. A minimum of 1 work sample and maximum of 10 total samples may be submitted, with up to 10 images, 6 audio files, and 6 video files allowed.
The exhibition will be juried in two stages. First, a group of artists will be selected from all entries for inclusion in the exhibition by jurors Halona Norton-Westbrook (TMA Mellon Fellow) and Amy Gilman (Associate Director). Decisions about which works will be included in the show will be finalized by Dr. Norton-Westbrook in the months between artist selection and exhibition installation. Second, once the show is installed, a guest juror of renown will jury prizes. Awards are: Best in Show - $5,000; First Place - $2,500; Second Place - $1,500; Third Place - $1,000. The exhibition opens November 21, 2014 and closes January 4, 2015. Artists will be notified of decisions by July 15, 2014.
