94th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Muskegon Museum of Art invites artists to submit work for the 94th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition, running September 28 – November 8, 2023. Artists 18 years or older residing in Michigan may enter. Each artist may submit up to two works in any medium, except video and performance are not eligible. The entry fee is $35, with a discounted fee of $20 for MMA Members (call 231-720-2571 for discount code). The deadline for entry is July 21, 2023.

Eligible entries must be original works completed in the last two years and not previously exhibited at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Commercial reproductions, including giclée prints, will not be accepted. Traditional print media, photography, and digital art should be from a limited edition. Wall mounted pieces may not exceed 6 feet wide by 12 feet high. Three-dimensional standing pieces may not exceed 10 feet high by 6 feet by 6 feet. Only work easily handled by two people will be accepted. Digital image files must conform to CaFÉ site requirements and include the title, media, and dimensions of entries. Incomplete entries will not be juried. Accepted works that differ dramatically from submitted images or information may be refused at the discretion of MMA staff.

The juror is Etsuko Ichikawa, a multi-media artist and filmmaker based in Hawaii. Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Seattle Art Museum, and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa. She has received grants from the Pollock Krasner Foundation and Artist Trust Arts Innovator Award. Entry is digital through the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org.
