93rd Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Muskegon Museum of Art invites artists to submit work for the 93rd Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition, running October 7 through November 30, 2022. All artists 18 years or older residing in Michigan may enter. Each artist may submit up to two original works in any medium (video entries are not accepted). Works must have been completed in the last two years and not previously exhibited at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Commercial reproductions, including giclée prints, are not accepted. Traditional print media, photography, and digital art should be from a limited edition.

Wall-mounted pieces may not exceed 6 feet wide by 12 feet high. Three-dimensional standing pieces may not exceed 10 feet high by 6 feet by 6 feet. Only work easily handled by two people will be accepted. All works must be ready for presentation: hanging works should be framed with wire or D-Rings (sawtooth hangers not permitted), and all works on paper must be framed and glazed. The entry fee is $35 ($20 for MMA Members). Digital entry is through the CaFÉ website; submit images for one or two artworks only with title, media, and dimensions. The deadline for entry is July 29, 2022. Artists will be notified of jury results by email no later than August 26, 2022.

Accepted artwork must be delivered to the Muskegon Museum of Art on September 22, 23, or 24 between 11 AM and 4 PM, or shipped to arrive by Friday, September 23, 2022. All packing and shipping costs are the artist's responsibility. Accepted work is eligible for sale through the MMA Store with a 30% commission. Prizes include Best of Show ($1,500), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750), with additional purchase awards available. The juror is Kira Nam Greene. Accepted entries must remain in the exhibition through November 30, 2022. In-person pickup is available December 1-3, 2022. Works not picked up by January 20, 2023 will be discarded.
