92nd Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Muskegon Museum of Art invites artists to submit work for the 92nd Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition, running September 23 – November 10, 2021. All artists 18 years or older residing in Michigan are eligible to enter.

Artists may submit one or two original works completed in the last two years that have not been previously exhibited at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Work in any medium is accepted except video. Commercial reproductions, including giclée prints, will not be accepted. Traditional print media, photography, and digital art should be from a limited edition. Wall-mounted pieces may not exceed 6 feet wide by 12 feet high. Three-dimensional standing pieces may not exceed 10 feet high by 6 feet by 6 feet. Only work easily handled by two people will be accepted. All works must be ready for presentation: hanging works should be framed with wire or D-Rings (sawtooth hangers not permitted), entries must be dry and completely assembled, and all works on paper must be framed and glazed.

The entry fee is $35 ($20 for MMA Members). Digital submissions are made through the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org. The deadline for entry is July 9, 2021 at 11:59 PM MST. Artists will be notified of jury results by email no later than July 30, 2021. Accepted work must be delivered September 9-11, 2021 (11 AM – 4 PM) or shipped to arrive by September 10, 2021. Prizes include Best of Show ($1,500), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750), with additional purchase awards available. All accepted work is eligible for sale through the MMA Store with a 30% commission. The juror is Karen Hampton, an internationally recognized conceptual artist.
