91st Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Muskegon Museum of Art invites artists to submit work for the 91st Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition, running September 5 – November 13, 2019. All artists 18 years or older residing in Michigan are eligible to enter.

Artists may submit up to two original works completed in the last two years that have not been previously exhibited at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Commercial reproductions, including giclée prints, are not accepted. Traditional print media, photography, and digital art must be from a limited edition. Video entries are not permitted. Wall-mounted pieces may not exceed 6 feet wide by 12 feet high. Three-dimensional pieces may not exceed 10 feet high by 6 feet by 6 feet. Only work easily handled by two people will be accepted. All works must be ready for presentation: hanging works should be framed with wire or D-Rings (sawtooth hangers not permitted), entries must be dry and completely assembled, and all works on paper must be framed and glazed.

Entry fee is $35 ($20 for MMA Members). Submit up to four digital images (maximum two per artwork) through the CaFÉ website. The deadline for entry is July 12, 2019 at 11:59 PM MST. Artists will be notified of jury results by email no later than July 29, 2019. Accepted work must be delivered August 22-24, 2019, or shipped to arrive by August 23, 2019. Prizes include Best of Show ($1,500), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750), with additional purchase awards available. All accepted work is eligible for sale through the MMA Store with a 30% commission. Work must remain in the exhibition through November 13, 2019. Pickup is available November 14-16, 2019.
