8th Annual Juried Photography Show

The 8th Annual National Juried Photography Show theme is "Magnificent Monochrome." Subject matter is open for interpretation by the photographer and must be produced in black and white or monochromatic palette. This exhibition celebrates the continued relevance of the black-and-white image in contemporary photographic practice.

Juror Keith F. Davis is an independent photographic historian, curator, author, and image maker with over forty years of experience. He has curated more than 100 exhibitions and written or contributed to about 50 books and catalogues. His awards include a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities (1986) and the 2018 AIPAD Award for career contributions to the field. He has resided in Sheridan since 2010.

Entry fees are $25 for non-members ($15 for SAGE members for the first photo) plus $5 per additional photo (up to 10 total). Both stages of jurying are blind, with the first round conducted online requiring no shipping. Approximately 35-40 photos will be selected for the exhibition. Selected artists will be notified by December 20 and must ship accepted work by January 17. The final round of jurying will be in person. Award winners will be announced at the Artists' Reception on Thursday, February 2nd from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Awards include: Best of Show ($1,000), First Prize ($750), Second Prize ($500), Third Prize ($300), and People's Choice ($150).

Eligibility is open to all artists residing in the US. All work must be original and created within the past five years and cannot have been included in a prior SAGE Juried Photography show. Printed photos cannot exceed 36 inches in width (including framing) and must be exhibit-ready with proper hanging mechanism. All work accepted into the show must be for sale; SAGE retains 35% commission for members and 40% for non-members. A Loan Agreement Contract must be completed once work is selected.
