86th Annual Student Show

This call is open to students of the Indianapolis Art Center only. Students must have taken at least one class at the Art Center since August 2022. All entries will be cross-referenced to verify student status.

The 86th Annual Student Show is an opportunity to exhibit artworks made by students enrolled in classes throughout the Art Center's studios. Works in any medium produced since August 2022 are eligible. Artworks may not have been previously exhibited at the Art Center and must be the original production of the entering artist. The exhibition will be juried by Anita Giddings, Teaching Professor and Coordinator of Elective Arts at Herron School of Art & Design. Jurors will consider design skills, technical elements, presentation, and expressive/imaginative/conceptual content. The Adult Divisions are juried and competitive, with a maximum of two pieces per adult artist anticipated for acceptance depending on application volume. Jurors will determine award winners, who will be notified by email following the Awards Ceremony.

Entry fee is $35.00 plus a $5.00 media fee. Applicants must submit 2-6 work samples (images, audio, and/or video). Works must be delivered ready to install with no protruding nails or hooks. Paintings must be completely dry and framed; works on paper must be mounted or framed. Maximum weight for wall-mounted works is 250 lbs. Digital works requiring a monitor screen must be formatted as an mp4 file at 16:9 aspect ratio. Application deadline is December 3, 2023. Acceptance notifications will be sent by end of day December 5, 2023. Artwork drop-off is December 6-23, 2023. The exhibition opens January 22, 2024, with a reception on Friday, February 2nd from 5-8pm, and closes March 10, 2024. Artwork pick-up is March 11-17, 2024.
