85th Annual Indianapolis Art Center Student Show

This call is open to students of the Indianapolis Art Center only. Students must have been enrolled in at least one Art Center course since August of 2021. All entries will be cross referenced to verify student status.

The exhibition is an opportunity to show Art Center students, patrons, and the Indianapolis community recent and exciting work. Jurors will choose artworks for the exhibition from the adult division, with works juried against other works in the same division. The number of pieces chosen for display is limited, with a maximum of two pieces per adult artist anticipated for acceptance. Jurors will consider design skills, technical elements, presentation, and expressive/imaginative/conceptual content of artwork. For 3D work, uploading video documentation is recommended to give jurors a sense of sculpture in the round. Jurors will keep a balanced show in mind but are not required to select a specific quota in each division or medium. Award winners will be notified by email following the Awards Ceremony.

The juror for the Adult Division is Dr. Peter Wang, Lecturer of Art History and founding coordinator for the Art History Major/Minor at Butler University, specializing in Modern and Contemporary art, history of photography, American art, and visual culture. Entry fee is $35.00. Applicants may submit 1-4 total work samples (images and/or videos). Acceptance notifications will be sent by December 5, 2022. Artwork drop-off is December 6-18, 2022. The exhibition opens January 23, 2023 and closes March 19, 2023. An exhibition reception is scheduled for Friday, February 3rd, 5-8pm. Artwork pick-up is March 20-30, 2023.
