About This Call
The National Sculpture Society's 83rd Annual Awards Exhibition is open to all sculptors. Work inspired by nature, figurative, or realist sculpture is preferred. All entries are subject to jury and will be juried anonymously from electronically submitted images. Works previously exhibited in an Annual NSS Exhibition are ineligible.
Works must have been created within the last 5 years and may be in any permanent medium, including terracotta and plaster (artists assume responsibility for packaging and shipping). Works of all sizes are considered, including reliefs and medals. Sculptors may submit up to 3 works (maximum 6 images total). A $40 non-refundable processing fee is required. Submission deadline is April 22, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by May 13.
Accepted works will be exhibited at Brookgreen Gardens from August 6 through October 29, 2016. A closing reception will be held on October 29, with the exhibition open to the public on October 30. All works must be shipped at the sculptor's expense to Coastal Transfer & Storage in Georgetown, SC, and must be properly crated (cardboard boxes are not accepted). A Jury of Awards will meet after installation to determine awards. Exhibition awards range from $5,000 (Gold Medal/Charlotte Geffkin Prize) to $200 (Beverly Hoyt Robertson Memorial Award). A 25% commission will be charged on all sales. Sculptors under 40 are eligible for the Beverly Hoyt Robertson Memorial Award.
