7th Annual Sanchez Art Center 50|50 Show

Accepted artists will create 50 small works (6" x 6") over the course of 50 days. Each artist chooses a theme for their 50 pieces and uses a single medium throughout the series. Creation of works will begin June 8 and end July 27, 2015. The exhibition will run August 28 - September 20, 2015.

Eligibility is open to California artists age 18 and over. The entry fee is $25, with an additional $75 due upon acceptance to cover materials and exhibition expenses. Sanchez Art Center will furnish each artist with 50 unprimed medium-density fiberboard (MDF) panels, 6" x 6" with pre-drilled nail holes, hanging supplies, and installation templates. All fine art visual media are accepted. Artists may prime and paint on panels, or attach canvas, drawings, or watercolor paper. 3D sculptures may be attached to wall-mounted panels or stand on SAC-approved shelves. All works must fit within 6" x 6" x 6" allocated space.

The 50|50 Show is a fundraising event with all artworks for sale. All works of an individual artist must have the same price, except the optional framed 50th piece. Pricing guideline is $50 to $175 each. SAC will process sales and sales tax, taking a 30% commission. Artists are responsible for hanging and removing their own works on scheduled dates. Artists will be encouraged to gallery sit for one day during the show. Accepted artists will be notified May 21, and must pick up panels and pay the $75 fee by May 30.
