About This Call
Business for the Arts Broward (BFA) is seeking entries from established and emerging artists for its 7th Annual Art+Stroll, presented by BBX Capital. The exhibition takes place Thursday, April 17th, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the lobbies of buildings 200, 201, and 301 E. Las Olas Blvd. in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a juried exhibition co-curated by BFA's Executive Director Robyn Vegas and Program Coordinator Lori Pratico, with Jodi Sypher, Exhibitions Curator at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, Florida, serving as judge.
BFA accepts 2D work no larger than 38 inches on its longest side, and 3D art such as sculpture, ceramics, fashion, or other free-standing artwork. All work must not exceed 30 pounds and must be hang/presentation ready using D rings or wire (no sawtooth hangers). Accepted 3D artists are responsible for providing pedestals and delivering and setting up their work. The theme and medium are open, including photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, paper art, fiber art, wood, clay, metal, glass, sculpture, fashion, and mixed media. Artists may submit up to three entries they have personally created. Work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years. Participants must be 18 or older, and content should be appropriate for all viewers.
The entry fee is $30 for up to three works. The deadline to submit is Friday, February 28th by midnight. Accepted artists will be notified by March 14th and receive one complimentary Sip & Stroll VIP ticket to the event. Cash prizes totaling $5,000 will be awarded: 1st place $3,000, 2nd place $1,500, and 3rd place $500. All artwork may be offered for sale, with BFA retaining a 25% commission on sales. Artwork drop-off and installation is Wednesday, April 9th, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (or by prior arrangement). If shipping, artwork must arrive by April 7th. Artists can collect their work at the end of the April 17th event at 8:00 p.m. or pick up from the BFA office by April 24th, 2025. All accepted artists must submit a signed W9 form.
