75th Annual Gilpin County Arts Association Juried Show

The 75th Annual Gilpin County Arts Association Juried Show offers over $3,000 in cash awards across multiple categories. Awards include a $500 Best of Show, three first place awards of $400 each, three second place awards of $300 each, three third place awards of $200 each, three honorable mentions of $100 each, and a Board President's Choice award of $100. Awards are given for 2D, 3D, and Photography, with mixed media, jewelry, and 3D combined as a single 3D category.

The show is open to artists in all 50 states. Only original works completed within the last three years are eligible. Work previously shown in GCAA galleries, work from kits, or work executed in a class or workshop is not eligible. Paintings must be original; if copied, only from photographs taken by the artist. All jewelry entries must be at least 75% handmade by the artist. Entries in any media cannot exceed 60 inches in the longest dimension, and 3D pieces must be easily managed by the curator. Entry fee is $50 for non-members ($40 for current GCAA members with discount code). A $20 media fee applies for additional image submissions beyond the initial three. Submissions must include 3-6 images as jpeg files at 72 dpi, 1200 pixels at longest dimension, under 900K.

All 2D work must be delivered framed and ready to hang with a wire hanging system installed. No sawtooth hangers are permitted. Framing must meet gallery quality standards. Gallery wrapped canvases are acceptable if edges are painted. Pedestals will be provided for 3D work, but special mounts must be supplied by the artist if needed. Artwork must arrive by May 27, 2022. The show runs June 11 through August 20, 2022, with an opening reception and awards presentation on June 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. GCAA takes a 40% commission on all work sold; artists receive 60% of retail price. Artists will be paid for sales within 40 days of the end of show. Artwork pickup is August 20-24, 2022, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
