73rd Annual Gilpin County Arts Association Juried Art Show

The Gilpin County Arts Association invites artists to participate in its 73rd Annual Juried Art Show, running June 6 through August 1, 2020. GCAA has hosted the longest continuously running juried show in Colorado since 1948. The exhibition takes place in Central City, Colorado.

Eligibility: Open to artists in all 50 states. Only original works completed by the artist within the last 3 years are eligible. Work previously shown in GCAA galleries, work from kits, or work executed in a class or workshop is not eligible. Paintings must be original; if copied, only from photographs taken by the artist. All jewelry entries must be at least 75% handmade by the artist. Entries in any media can be no larger than 48 inches in the longest dimension, and 3D pieces must be easily managed by 2 people.

Submission Requirements: Submit entries online through Café only. 2D artists and photographers may submit up to three entries. 3D, fiber, and jewelry artists may submit up to 6 entries, with a three-entry limit for wall pieces. Images must be jpeg files at 72 dpi, 1200 pixels at the longest dimension, and under 900K. Entry fee is $50 for non-members and $40 for current GCAA members. Deadline: May 1, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Shipped work must arrive no later than May 31st.

Awards: Over $3000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including $500 for Best of Show. Jurors include Virginia Unseld (Judge for Awards), Natasha Isenhour (2D), Ira Sherman (3D), and Rob Lantz (Photography). All work must be for sale and remain on display for the duration of the show. GCAA takes a 40% commission on all work sold; artists receive 60% of the retail price. Artists will be paid for sales within 40 days of the end of show. Artwork is insured while at the gallery.
