72nd Annual Gilpin Arts Association Juried Art Show

The Gilpin County Arts Association (GCAA) invites artists to participate in its 72nd Annual Juried Art Show, the longest continuously running juried show in Colorado, running from June 1 through August 2, 2019 in Central City, Colorado.

Eligibility is open to artists in 8 western states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Only original works completed by the artist within the last 3 years are eligible. Paintings must be original and if copied, only from photographs taken by the artist. All jewelry entries must be at least 75% handmade by the artist. Work previously shown in GCAA Galleries, work from kits, or work executed in a class or workshop is not eligible. Entries in any media can be no larger than 48 inches in the longest dimension, and 3D pieces must be easily managed by 2 people. Each 2D artist and photographer may submit up to three entries. Each 3D, fiber, and jewelry artist may submit up to three entries.

The entry fee is $50 for non-members and $40 for current GCAA members. Over $3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including a $500 Best of Show award. Jury notifications will be emailed by April 26, 2019. Delivery of accepted work is scheduled for May 10-12 and May 17-19, 2019. The opening reception and awards presentation is June 1, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. All work must be for sale and remain on display for the duration of the show. GCAA takes a 40% commission on all work sold, with artists receiving 60% of the retail price. Artists will be paid for sales within 30 days of the end of the show.
