6th Annual Sanchez Art Center 50|50 Show

Accepted artists will create 50 small works (6" x 6") over the course of 50 days. Each artist chooses a theme for their 50 pieces and uses from 1 to 3 medium(s) throughout the series. Creation of works begins June 9 and ends July 28, 2014. The exhibition runs August 22 - September 28, 2014. Artists may use up to 3 mediums as long as they submit a work sample in each medium. All 50 pieces must have the same price regardless of medium used, except piece #50 if it is framed.

Eligibility is limited to California artists age 18 and over. The entry fee is $25, with an additional $75 due upon acceptance to cover materials and exhibition expenses. Accepted artists must pick up 50 unprimed MDF panels (6" x 6") from Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica. All fine art visual media are accepted. Works must fit within 6" x 6" x 6" allocated space. Sanchez Art Center will furnish panels with pre-drilled nail holes and provide hanging supplies and installation templates.

Artists are responsible for hanging and taking down their own works on scheduled dates. Installation occurs August 16-18, 1-5 pm. The 50 panels will be hung in a 7x7 grid with 1" between panels, with the 50th piece hung separately and optionally framed. Each artist prepares an 8.5" x 11" bio and artist statement. All artworks are for sale with pricing guidelines of $50-$175 each. Sanchez Art Center processes sales and takes a 30% commission. Artists are encouraged to gallery sit one day during the show. Accepted artists will be notified May 22. Entries must be submitted online by 11:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on May 13.
