6th Annual Plein Air on the Santa Cruz

Join a five-day plein air retreat and workshop at Rancho Santa Cruz in Tumacacori, Arizona, located approximately one hour south of Tucson on the Santa Cruz River in a grove of cottonwood trees. The retreat runs October 23-27, 2023, with instructors Elizabeth Neer (pastel artist) and Denyse Fenelon (oil painter). All mediums are welcome, with instruction geared toward beginning professional level; some experience is recommended.

Participants must apply through the call for entry website and pay a $25 exhibit fee. The first 16 applicants will be accepted. The retreat cost is $250 and includes all three workshops, receptions, and ranch barbecue, with or without lodging. Optional lodging at Rancho Santa Cruz is $850 for 6 nights with single occupancy and breakfast included, or $750 with Early Bird rate if registered by August 1st. A 30% deposit is due September 1st, with full payment due October 1st. Full refunds are available before October 1st; no refunds after that date. Check-in is October 22-23; checkout is October 28th.

Artwork created during the retreat will be exhibited at Tubac Center of the Arts Front Gallery from October 27 through November 12, 2023, with an opening reception on Friday, October 27, 5-7pm.
