6th Annual Juried International Exhibition of Contemporary Islamic Art

The Islamic Art Revival Series (IARS) presents the 6th Annual Juried International Exhibition of Contemporary Islamic Art at the Irving Arts Center in Irving, Texas. The exhibition runs from October 7 to November 12, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75062. Dr. Linda Komaroff, Curator of Islamic Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), will serve as the juror and keynote speaker.

This juried exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older from around the world. All submitted artwork should be based on or inspired by Islamic art and design, Islamic literature, Islamic architecture, and Islamic cultures, or address current social issues presented in a positive light. Only artwork produced within the last two years (since 2015) will be accepted. Artwork previously shown in IARS juried exhibitions is not eligible. All 2D and 3D art media are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, art glass, fiber arts, hand pulled prints, photographs, small art installations, video art, and original digital prints. Giclee prints that are not original will not be considered.

The entry fee is $35.00. Submissions should include 1-4 images and/or 0-2 videos (minimum 1 total sample, maximum 4 total samples). The submission deadline is Sunday, July 16, 2017. All accepted artwork will be featured on the IARS website for one full year after the exhibition ends. IARS produces a full-color exhibition catalog.
