About This Call
Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop & Gallery invites printmakers from around the world to submit work for the 6th Annual International Juried Print Exhibition, held December 7, 2018 to January 27, 2019. The exhibition aims to present a collection of innovative prints featuring themes and techniques from all traditions of printmaking. Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is one of the first completely non-toxic printmaking facilities in the country. The 3000+ square foot facility includes two workshop spaces with 6 Takach presses, a classroom, and two gallery spaces.
Each artist can submit up to 5 original, two-dimensional prints using traditional printmaking techniques or combinations thereof, created within the last 3 years. No digital images or giclée reproductions are accepted. Maximum paper size is 16 x 20" or 20 x 16". The entry fee is $30 USD (non-refundable), payable via CaFE, which covers return postage, administration, and exhibition costs. Entries must arrive by midnight MDT on September 30, 2018. All selected works will be archivally framed and displayed in the Remarque Gallery at no cost to artists beyond shipping. Artists will be notified of jurying results by October 19, 2018, with accepted works due by November 10, 2018.
First prize includes a solo show at Remarque/New Grounds in fall 2020, gallery representation, and an artist page on the gallery website. Representation may be offered to more than one artist. Awards will be announced during the opening reception. The gallery retains 50% of the retail price for any sales, with payment to artists due within 30 days of the exhibition's end. By submitting, artists grant Remarque the right to use their images for marketing the exhibition with artist recognition provided.
