About This Call
Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) is seeking entries from established and emerging artists for its 6th Annual Art + Stroll, presented by BBX Capital. The exhibition takes place April 10-17, 2024, with the opening reception on Wednesday, April 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the lobbies of buildings 200, 201, and 301 E. Las Olas Blvd. in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
BFA accepts 2D work no larger than 38 inches on its longest side, and 3D art such as sculpture, ceramics, fashion, or other free-standing artwork. Works cannot exceed 30 pounds. All themes and mediums are welcome, including photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, paper art, fiber art, wood, clay, metal, glass, sculpture, fashion, and mixed media. Artists may submit up to three original works created within the last eight years. The entry fee is $30. Accepted 3D artists are responsible for providing pedestals and delivering and setting up their work themselves. All work must be hang/presentation ready using D rings or wire.
Works are selected based on originality, creativity, craftsmanship, and artistic distinction. The exhibition is juried by Lisa Burgess, President of New River Fine Art Gallery. Cash prizes totaling $5,000 will be awarded: 1st place $3,000, 2nd place $1,500, and 3rd place $500. Accepted artists receive one complimentary Sip & Stroll VIP ticket. All artwork may be offered for sale, with BFA retaining a 25% commission on sales. The deadline to submit is Sunday, March 3rd by midnight. Accepted artists will be notified by March 15th. Artwork drop-off and installation is Wednesday, April 10th between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Artists can collect their work at 8:00 p.m. on April 17th or arrange pickup from the BFA office by April 26th. This exhibition will also be featured digitally on BFA's website.
