6by Exhibit

The 6by Exhibit is a call for original small works of visual art in any medium. One dimension of each creation must measure 6" before framing. The exhibition runs August 25 through September 19, 2023, with an opening reception on Friday, September 25th from 6-8 pm at Cape Fear Studios, 148 Maxwell Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.

Eligibility and Requirements: Artists must be 18 years old and above. Each artist may submit up to three pieces of original work; no prints or mass-produced work. For 2D work, one dimension (height and/or width) must measure 6", with a maximum of 6 x 18 inches before framing. Work must be properly wired for hanging with no sawtooth hangers. For 3D work, at least one dimension must measure 6" (height, width, or depth) with no other dimension exceeding 12". Submit 1-3 images of your work.

Entry Fees and Awards: Entry fee is $30 for the first entry, with up to 2 additional entries at $15 each (maximum 3 entries per person). Awards include 1st place: $450, 2nd place: $200, 3rd place: $100, and two Honorable Mentions at $50 each. Cape Fear Studios retains a 30% commission on all sales. Judging is performed by Dwight Smith, Associate Professor of Visual Art at Fayetteville State University and director of the Rosenthal Art Gallery. Accepted work must be dropped off August 17, 18, 19, or 22 during open hours, or shipped to arrive on these dates with prepaid return shipping labels. Notification of acceptance is August 1, 2023. Late entries will not be accepted.
