About This Call

The 66th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition runs June 15 – September 15, 2019 at the Memorial Art Gallery. This juried exhibition showcases works by emerging and established artists from a 27-county region of upstate and western New York: Allegany, Broome, Cattaraugus, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Genesee, Erie, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orleans, Oswego, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates.

Eligibility: Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and live within the specified 27-county region. Entries must be original work completed within the last two years. Artists may enter up to three artworks. The entry fee is $35 per artist (non-refundable). Work samples may include up to 3 images (JPEG format) and/or up to 3 videos; at least 1 sample is required. DVD format is used for digital media films/interactives; stills are not accepted.

The juror is Marilyn Zapf, Assistant Director and Curator at the Center for Craft in Asheville, North Carolina. Awards include a Memorial Art Gallery Award ($1,500) and other cash awards. The deadline for entries is Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jury results will be notified on Monday, March 18, 2019. Accepted works must be hand-delivered between May 23-25, 2019. The exhibition opening party and awards ceremony is Saturday, June 15, with the public opening on Sunday, June 16. Artists must pick up their work between September 16-17, 2019. If accepted work is not picked up during these dates, it becomes the property of the Memorial Art Gallery. The artist is responsible for insuring work to and from the Gallery. Sale of exhibited artwork is at the discretion of the artist and will be managed by the Store at MAG, which retains a 50% commission.
