About This Call

The 65th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition is open to artists at least 18 years of age who live in one of 27 counties in New York: Allegany, Broome, Cattaraugus, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Genesee, Erie, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orleans, Oswego, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates. Entries must be original work completed within the last two years. Artists may submit up to three artworks with one JPEG image per artwork. DVD entries are accepted with a maximum length of 20 minutes each; stills are not accepted. The entry fee is $35 per artist (non-refundable). The deadline for entries is March 31, 2015, with late entries not accepted. Entries must be submitted online; mailed or dropped-off entries will not be reviewed.

The exhibition will be juried by Michael Rooks, Weiland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA. Awards include a Memorial Art Gallery Award of $1,500 and other cash awards. Accepted works must be suitably prepared for exhibition. Juried results will be notified April 23-24. Delivery of accepted works is July 11-12, with the exhibition opening party and awards ceremony on July 25 and public opening on July 26. The exhibition closes September 13, with pick-up of works September 14-15.

If accepted, works may not be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition. The Gallery accepts no liability for lost or damaged work and reserves the right to refuse entries due to excessive size, undue complexity, special installation conditions, or if the work does not match the submitted image. DVD entries may be presented in specially scheduled showings. Sale of artwork is at the artist's discretion and will be managed by the Gallery Store, which retains a 45% commission. By submitting an entry, the artist grants permission to the Gallery to photograph and reproduce the work for the Gallery's website and publicity purposes.
