This four-day event brings together over 300 artists and crafters from across the country to nearly 250,000 attendees. Voted yearly "Best Local Festival" and one of the "Best Street Fairs" by the Detroit Free Press, the fair is one of the largest and second-longest running art fairs in Michigan, tracing its history to 1961.
Booth fees range from $400-$700. Artist amenities include booth-sitting, discounted hotel rates, snack and cold water, restaurant information, indoor showers and bathroom facilities, booth signs, ID badges, and round-the-clock security by the Wyandotte Police Department. Limited electric is available; no outside generators are allowed. All tents must be professional quality with a minimum of 40 pounds of weight on each of the four corners. Cash prizes are awarded for Best in Show, Best New Artist, and Best Booth Design, with winners receiving jury exempt status for the following year.
