62nd Stockton Art League Juried Exhibition at the Haggin Museum

The 62nd Stockton Art League juried exhibition, sponsored by the Stockton Art League and supported by the California Arts Council, takes place at the Haggin Museum from September 5 - October 20, 2024. This is an open national juried exhibition for U.S. based artists working in fine art media, excluding video and installation art. Originally established in 1951 to recognize, promote, and reward excellence in Northern California art, the exhibition has grown into a national juried competition showcasing 2D and 3D artworks. The exhibition serves as a significant fundraiser for the Stockton Art League, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to providing art education and fostering visual arts development for all ages in Stockton and San Joaquin County.

Cash awards include: Best of Show: $1,000, Second Place: $500, Third Place: $250, and additional pending cash merit/juror awards. Entry fee is $35 for one entry, $5 for each additional entry, with a maximum of five entries per artist. All fees are non-refundable. Work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously shown at the Haggin Museum. Qualifying 2D media include acrylic, oil, watercolor, gouache, painting, drawing, pastels, encaustic, charcoal, pen, printmaking, and scratchboard. 3D works may include sculpture in traditional media, constructions, assemblages, suspended forms, and soft sculpture. Photography (analog and digital) and mixed media are accepted. Artwork should be no larger than 48 inches in any direction, including the frame, and no smaller than 11 inches on the shorter side, excluding the frame. Sculptures are limited to 48 inches in any direction and should not exceed 150 lbs., including the base.

Jurors are Gina Werfel and Joe Mariscal. Accepted pieces will be announced August 5, 2024. Shipment delivery to Goodwin Gallery is August 7-23, 2024. Hand delivery of work is August 23-24, 2024, 1:30-4:00 p.m. each day. A handling cost of $25.00 per entry will be charged on shipped artwork; artists are responsible for return shipping expenses. Work pickup is October 25-26, 2024, 1:30-4:00 p.m. each day. All sales are processed through the Stockton Art League gallery website via Square payment, with the Stockton Art League receiving a 30% commission on all sales.
