About This Call

The Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science invites artists to submit work for the 61st Mid-States Art Exhibition, on view December 11, 2022 – March 19, 2023.

Eligibility: Any artist residing in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, or Tennessee may enter. All work must be original, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited in the Mid-States Art Exhibition or at the Evansville Museum. The competition is open for the following categories: Painting, Drawing, Graphic Arts, Collage, Sculpture and Mixed Media. No photography is accepted. Entries must not exceed 108 inches in any direction and/or 150 pounds. No entry that requires the artist to be present for moving or assembly will be accepted.

Submission: Entry fee is $40.00, which entitles entrants to submit up to two entries via CaFE. Submission deadline is September 14, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of jurying results will be sent September 24. Accepted work must be received hand delivered or shipped prepaid between September 30 – October 11, 2022. The juror will conduct final review and award selection on October 17. An Awards Reception will be held December 10, 6:00pm - 8:00pm CST.

Awards: Purchase and merit awards will be presented at the opening reception. Purchase award-winning works will become part of the Evansville Museum's permanent collection. The Museum takes a 20% commission for the sale of works from this exhibition. All works accepted for exhibition will be insured while on the premises at a value agreeable to the artist and the Museum, with a maximum insurance value of $5,000.00. Exhibited work may be claimed March 23 – March 31, 2023. The Museum will not be responsible for work not claimed by March 31, 2023.
