60th Annual Thumb Area Artists' Exhibition

The 60th Annual Thumb Area Artists' Exhibition is a regional exhibition open to artists 18 years or older who reside in Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Tuscola, or Wayne counties in Michigan. Artists may submit a maximum of 2 entries. The entry fee is $40 for non-RGA members and $30 for Romeo Guild of Art members in good standing. Submissions require 1-2 images of original work completed within the last two years that has not been previously exhibited in the Thumb Area Artists Exhibition.

Acceptable media include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, drawing, graphics, and sculpture (wood, metal, etc.). Fibers, photography, and computer-generated art are not acceptable. All entries must be for sale and priced; no PORs are permitted. A 30% commission will be taken by Starkweather Arts Center on all artwork sales. Wall pieces must be framed with wire only (no sawtooth hooks) and may not exceed 40" in height, width, or depth. Work must be completed within the last two years and cannot be class work or reproductions of copyrighted works.

The exhibition runs September 2-24, 2019 at Starkweather Arts Center, 219 N. Main, Romeo, MI 48065. Hours are Thursdays-Saturdays 10AM-4PM. An opening reception and award presentation will be held September 10, 5PM-9PM. Artists must pick up accepted work on September 25 between 10AM and 3:30PM. The juror is Fran Wolok.
