60th Annual Montgomery Art Guild/Regions Bank Exhibition

The Montgomery Art Guild invites submissions for the 60th Annual Montgomery Art Guild/Regions Bank Exhibition, a juried competition open to active members. Artists may submit up to four pieces of original artwork created in 2024, 2025, or 2026 across six categories: opaque painting, 3-dimensional work, photography/computer imagery, works on paper, mixed media and constructions, and fine crafts.

Artwork size limits are 44 inches in height by 36 inches in width (including frame) and 20 pounds maximum for 2D work; sculptures may not exceed 5' x 3' x 3' and must weigh no more than 50 pounds. All artwork must be original, finished, dry, framed or gallery wrapped, and suitable for display. Giclée reproductions are not permitted except in the photography category. No AI assistance is allowed in creating artwork. Entry fees are $36 for three submissions or $48 for four submissions. Membership in the Montgomery Art Guild is required ($35 for regular members, $20 for students; applicants must be at least 19 years old).

The juror will select artwork from digital image submissions. Award winners include $500 for best in show, $300 for best in each category, and $150 for honorable mention in each category. Selected artists will be invited to exhibit at Stonehenge Gallery in Montgomery in spring 2027. Artwork delivery takes place Friday, September 11, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Montgomery County Historical Society, Figh-Pickett House, 512 South Court Street, Montgomery, AL 36104. The exhibition opens with a reception and awards ceremony Monday, September 11, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and runs through September 30 (open Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). A juror critique with Nathaniel Allen will be held Wednesday, September 16, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Artwork pickup is Thursday, October 1, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Digital images must be 300 ppi in .jpg format, between 960 and 4600 pixels on the longest side, with a maximum file size of 4 mb.
