6 Month Installation Exhibit | The HUD Gallery

This call is for site-specific installation proposals. Dab Art's curatorial panel will select 1 artist whose proposed project will be installed for 6 months in The HUD Gallery. The selected artist will receive a stipend (amount to be determined based on available funds).

Artists must submit a bio or artist's statement, updated CV, 4-15 images of completed and/or proposed artwork (images of sketches, concepts, and works in progress are acceptable), and a written paragraph describing the proposed installation/project. Proposed artwork does not have to be for sale. Artists may submit up to 2 different proposals. Entry fee is $60.00.

The HUD Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot venue located in Ventura, California, just north of Los Angeles. The 3,000 square foot gallery is contemporary and spacious, accommodating both 2D and 3D artwork with vaulted ceilings and suspended display walls. The installation will remain on display from January to June 2016. The entire piece/project must be installed by December 18th, 2015 and uninstalled by June 24th, 2016. A reception will be held January 1st, 2016. The final installation must fit within 2,700 cubic feet and be suspended from cross beams. Space dimensions are 9' x 13' x 23'. All transportation and installation costs are the artist's responsibility. Installations can be fabricated from wood, metal, electrical, glass, digital, or graphic assemblages; all genres, mediums, and combinations are welcome. Dab Art will retain a 35% commission on installation artwork sold while on exhibit. The winning artist will be announced on November 16th, 2015.
