6 By Exhibit

The 6 By Exhibit is a small works competition for visual artists of any medium at Cape Fear Studios. One dimension of each creation must measure 6" before framing. Artists 18 years old and above may submit up to three pieces of original work; no prints or mass-produced work.

2D work must have one dimension (height and/or width) measuring 6", up to a maximum of 6 x 18 inches (dimensions before framing) and must be properly wired for hanging with no sawtooth hangers. 3D work must have at least one dimension measuring 6" (height, width, or depth) with no other dimension exceeding 12". Entry fee is $25 for the first entry, with up to two additional entries at $15 each (maximum 3 entries per person). Multiple images in a single frame are subject to entry fee per image.

Entry deadline is August 27, 2021, with notification of acceptance on September 3. Exhibit dates are September 24 - November 23, 2021. The opening reception is Friday, September 24, 6-8 pm. Accepted work must be dropped off at Cape Fear Studios on September 16, 17, 18, or 21 during open hours (Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm, Saturday 10am-2pm). Shipped work should arrive on these dates with prepaid return shipping labels. Awards: 1st place $250, 2nd place $125, 3rd place $75, judged by an arts professional.
