About This Call
Manhattan Graphics Center announces the 5th New York International Miniature Print Exhibition (NYIMPE), a juried competition and exhibition devoted to miniature prints. The online exhibition will be on view June 15 – August 15, 2022, with a virtual opening reception on June 26, 2022 from 1:00–3:00 pm. The juror is John Morning, a Manhattan artist whose abstract prints and paintings are in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and other notable institutions.
Entry fee is $35 ($30 for Manhattan Graphics Center members). Artists may submit a maximum of 3 works. Works must contain some form of printmaking including intaglio, silkscreen, relief, monotype, lithography, collagraph, or risograph. Works must be 2-dimensional, dated 2017 or later, and no larger than 9 square inches (58 square centimeters). All artwork entered must be for sale. Photographs or reproductions of artwork originally produced in another medium will not be considered. Suggested price is not more than $200. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Prizes are $500 for 1st place, $300 for 2nd place, and $200 for 3rd place. Prize winners will have the opportunity to speak about their work at the virtual reception on June 26. Acceptance notification will be sent May 24, 2022. All sales will be made through MGC's website and social media. Artists will receive 60% of the sale price and MGC will retain a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for packing, shipping, and insuring sold works to buyers. Payments will be made by check or PayPal after the exhibition ends, expected by September 30, 2022.
