5th Annual Visions of the Flint Hills Art Show & Sale

Buttonwood Art Space hosts the annual Visions of the Flint Hills Benefit and Sale to benefit preservation of the Flint Hills area of Kansas. The 10,000 acre Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve and surrounding Flint Hills contain the largest remaining parcel of Tallgrass prairie that once covered 140 million acres in North America. Partial proceeds from the event benefit the Flint Hills Tourism Coalition, a 501(c)(3) charity that promotes the Flint Hills as a visitors' destination.

This juried exhibit features art of the Flint Hills and runs from October 4 through November 29, 2013, at Buttonwood Art Space, 3013 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri. The exhibition is open to paintings, photographs, fiber and 3-D works influenced by or depicting the Flint Hills geographic area in Kansas. Categories include: Painting, Photography, 3-D, and Other (which includes flat fiber pieces, drawings, video, and non-traditional work). Artists may submit up to four pieces for a non-refundable $25.00 entry fee. All artwork will be juried on a piece-by-piece basis. The juror is Michael Albrechtsen. All works will be split 50% to the artist and 50% to the Flint Hills Tourism Coalition.

Entry deadline is August 10, 2013. All entries must be submitted through CAFÉ at www.callforentry.org. Artwork must be shipped to Buttonwood Art Space by September 18, 2013, or hand-delivered to the gallery by September 23, 2013. Contact: [email protected] or 816-285-9040.
