About This Call
The 5th Annual Cheyenne Arts Festival is a juried visual arts festival produced by Arts Cheyenne with key sponsorship from the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority/Main Street and the Wyoming Arts Council. The festival takes place August 19-21, 2016 at the historic Cheyenne Depot and Depot Plaza in Downtown Cheyenne.
The festival features almost 5,000 square feet of indoor, air-conditioned space for juried visual artists, as well as outdoor exhibit spaces. Additional programming includes a welcome reception for visual artists and patrons, a purchase awards program with more than $5,000 in guaranteed sales, a two-day music and dance performance schedule, hands-on art workshops for young people, and an Artisan Boulevard with food and beverages.
Exhibit space fees are $200 per 10x10' indoor or outdoor space, collected after acceptance. Artist sharing is allowed, up to two artists per exhibit space. No commission is taken on works sold. Accepted artists will be notified by May 13, 2016 and exhibit spaces will be assigned by July 1, 2016. Indoor spaces include electrical power (limited to 5 amps or 550 watts); artists must provide their own extension cords, power strips, display walls, tables, chairs, and additional lighting. Outdoor spaces require artists to bring their own canopies, display walls, tables, and chairs. Each artist receives an exhibitor sign listing name, exhibit space number, medium, and hometown. CAF volunteers are available to assist with setup, breakdown, and load-out.
Entry deadline is May 9, 2016. Applicants must submit 4 images of creative work and 1 image of typical artist exhibit space setup. Entry fee is $25. Up to 2 applications are allowed per artist. Eligibility is open to national applicants.
