59th CAIN National Show

The 59th CAIN National Show is open to all U.S. artists and features $7,500 in purchase awards: two Sculpture Purchase Awards at $3,000 each and one 2-D Purchase Award at $1,500. The exhibition is judged by a guest juror of national stature and attracts contemporary artwork from across the country. Accepted works are displayed in the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery at Del Mar College.

Eligible entries include original work created in the last three years (no reproductions). Previously exhibited works in the Annual Show are not eligible. Each artist may submit up to three works. Artists must be 18 years or older and submit through callforentry.org. The entry fee is $20 for up to two entries, with an additional $5 per entry for submissions beyond two. Image submissions must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, with sRGB color profile.

The exhibition runs February 21 through April 25, 2025, with an opening reception on February 21 from 6-8 p.m. Accepted artwork must arrive by February 3, 2025. 2-D artwork must not exceed 72 inches in the longest dimension; 3-D sculptures must not exceed 60 inches in the longest dimension and weigh less than 50 lbs. Sculptures requiring ceiling-suspended installation are not accepted. Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork in transit and during the exhibition. Return shipping is the artist's responsibility; hand-delivered work must be picked up by May 31, 2025. Artwork does not have to be for sale; the gallery will publish a price list and connect artists to interested buyers.
