About This Call
The 59th annual CBIZ Penrod Arts Fair will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET at Newfields, A Place for Nature & The Arts at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Fair is one of the largest single-day outdoor art fairs in the country and is a juried show of up to approximately 350 artists and galleries. The Penrod Society, an Indianapolis-based all-volunteer not-for-profit organization, hosts this signature event to support artists, students, arts organizations, and cultural and educational activities in Central Indiana.
The Fair is open to individual artists and co-artists who make original fine art and fine crafts by hand, as well as art galleries selling works from multiple artists. Accepted mediums include acrylic, ceramics, glass, jewelry, metalwork, musical instruments, oil, papermaking, pastel, pen/ink, photography, printmaking, stencil, stonework, tempera, textile, watercolor, and woodworking, as well as 2D and 3D mixed media categories. Prohibited items include work not made by hand, imported items, commercially manufactured items, buy-and-sell items, and kit-made or pattern-made items.
Applications must be submitted through the ZAPP online application system by May 20, 2026 at midnight ET. A non-refundable $35 application fee is required. Each application must include four digital images: three samples of work comparable in style and quality to what will be exhibited and representative of work produced in the last two years, and one image of the planned booth display. Accepted artists will be notified by email on June 3rd and must accept their invitation and pay booth fees by July 1st. Judge-awarded prizes will be given for Best in Show and runners-up. The Fair does not collect sales commissions from exhibitors. A select number of artists will be invited to participate in the 13th annual Merchants Bank "Evening with Penrod" event on Friday, September 11, 2026, from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET in the Yellow artist area.
