58th National Mother Lode Art Exhibition

The 58th National Mother Lode Art Exhibition is a prestigious juried art exhibition sponsored by Placerville Arts Association (PAA), located in El Dorado County, California. The exhibition takes place at Mills Station Arts and Culture Center (MACC) in Rancho Cordova, California from November 7-23, 2024. The selected art includes a large variety of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, textiles and jewelry, among others. This year's awards total over $3,000, including a $500 Best of Show. Members of Placerville Arts Association are eligible for additional membership-only awards (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). The juror and judge is D. Oldham Neath ("Art Lady"), owner of Archival Gallery in Sacramento and former Art Curator for KVIE Public Television.

Artists may submit up to 5 pieces/images, of which only 2 may be accepted. Entry fee is $20 per piece. Entries must be original artworks created by the artist, not previously shown in a Mother Lode Art Exhibition, and created within the last three years. No installations, videos, film, or work produced by commercial printing processes are accepted (exception: photography and digital imagery). Accepted art must be identical to the image submitted. Images must be JPEG or JPG format, RGB color, under 5 MB, and 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side.

Acceptance notifications will be sent by email the week of October 6, 2024. Shipped entries must arrive by Tuesday, October 22, 2024 by 5 pm via FedEx or UPS with prepaid return shipping. Hand-delivery of art is Thursday, October 24, 2024, 10 am - 6 pm at MACC. Artists' Reception is Friday, November 8, 2024, 5 pm - 7 pm, with Judge's Presentation at 6 pm. All artwork must be picked up Monday, November 25, 2024, 10 am - 6 pm; work left after this date becomes the property of PAA. MACC retains a 20% commission on work sold. The exhibition is open to all artists in the United States; PAA membership is not required to enter.
