About This Call
The 57th Street Art Fair is a two-day outdoor celebration of the visual arts held June 6 & 7, 2026, the first full weekend of June in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, adjacent to the University of Chicago campus. Considered the oldest juried art fair in the Midwest, the goal of the 57th Street Art Fair is to provide a venue for creators of quality fine art and fine craft to meet with the art-buying public. All artwork displayed at the 57th Street Art Fair must be original and produced entirely by the hands of the exhibiting artist: no reproductions, unlimited editions, or mass produced work. No work generated partially or in entirety by or with the aid of Artificial Intelligence is permitted.
Artists may apply in up to two categories, but only once within the same category, with separate applications required for each medium. Categories include ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, mixed media, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood objects/hand-crafted furniture. Applications open November 1, 2025, with a deadline of January 15, 2026. Notification will be sent March 1, 2026, and accepted artists must commit and pay the $450 booth fee by April 15, 2026.
The application requires four images: three of individual pieces and one booth shot showing overall continuity and presentation. A non-refundable jury fee of $45 is required with application. As part of the rotating cycle of re-jurying, all returning artists in ceramics, fiber and paper categories will be re-screened for 2026. Booth fees are fully refundable until April 30, 2026, and parking is available on local streets and at the University of Chicago's Community Lot at 60th Street and Stony Island Avenue.
