57th Annual National Drawing & Small Sculpture Show

The 57th Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show is open to all U.S. artists and offers $7,500 in purchase awards: two Sculpture Purchase Awards of $3,000 each and one 2-D Purchase Award of $1,500. The exhibition runs February 17 through May 3, 2023, in the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery at Del Mar College, with an opening reception on February 17 from 6-8 p.m. The show is judged by Barbara Simcoe, Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Eligible entries include original drawings, paintings, printmaking, watercolor, photography, and sculptures in any media. Only work created in the last three years may be entered, and previously exhibited works in the Annual Show are not eligible. Each artist may submit up to three works. Entry fee is $25 for three entries, with an additional $5 per entry for submissions beyond three. Submissions must be made through Callforentry.org by November 30, 2022. Image files must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, with sRGB color profile.

Accepted work must arrive by January 30, 2023. All 2-D artwork must not exceed 72 inches in the longest dimension; all 3-D sculpture must weigh less than 50 pounds. Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork in transit and during the exhibition. Accepted artwork will be returned by May 31, 2023. Artists must provide a prepaid return shipping label.
