56th Annual National Drawing & Small Sculpture Show

The 56th Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show is open to all U.S. artists. Only work created in the last three years can be entered, and previously exhibited works in the Annual Show are not eligible. Each artist may submit up to three works. The exhibition is judged by a guest juror of national stature and features $7,500 in purchase awards: two Sculpture Purchase Awards at $3,000 each and one 2-D Purchase Award at $1,500. All accepted artwork will be considered for purchase and displayed in the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery.

The entry fee is $25 for three entries, with an additional $5 per entry for submissions beyond three works. Submissions must be made through Callforentry.org by November 30, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Image files must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, with sRGB color profile. Artists will be notified via email by January 4, 2022. Accepted work must arrive by February 4, 2022. The exhibition runs February 18 through May 6, 2022, with an opening reception on February 18 from 6-8 p.m. Artwork will be returned by May 27, 2022.

Eligible entries include all original works on paper (drawing, printmaking, watercolor, photography) and sculptures of any media, except those requiring ceiling suspension. All 2-D artwork must not exceed 72 inches in the longest dimension, and all 3-D sculpture must weigh less than 50 lbs. Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork in transit and during the exhibition. Full-time Del Mar Art faculty members are excluded from eligibility.
