About This Call
All artists residing in Florida are invited to submit up to three (3) entries for the 56th Annual All Florida Juried Competition and Exhibition to be held at the Boca Raton Museum of Art from June 13 through August 26, 2007. Florida's oldest statewide annual juried competition features artwork from prominent and emerging Florida artists. Submissions of original works will be considered from all media: paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, video, computer generated images, and site-specific installations.
The competition is juried by John B. Henry, III, Director of The Flint Institute of Arts in Flint, Michigan. Cash awards totaling $3,000 will be distributed as follows: Best-In-Show $1,500, and three Merit Awards of $500 each. The entry fee is $35 for up to three artworks. Only original artworks completed after January 1, 2005 and not previously exhibited at the Boca Raton Museum of Art are eligible. No digital reproductions, giclée, Iris, or inkjet copies will be accepted. All prints in the Digital and Photography category must be signed and numbered in a limited edition of 250 or less. Artwork must not exceed 8 feet in any direction or weigh more than 100 pounds without prior written permission.
For 2D artists, submit a maximum of 3 images with no detail shots. For 3D and video artists, submit a maximum of 3 artworks represented by no more than 2 images per work for a total of up to 6 images. Video and sound-based materials must be submitted separately on CD or DVD format postmarked by April 18, 2007 to Meg Kaplan, Exhibitions Curator, Boca Raton Museum of Art, 501 Plaza Real, Mizner Park, Boca Raton, Florida 33432. Accepted artists are responsible for all shipping arrangements and expenses. Artwork must be dropped off June 5-6, 2007 and picked up August 27-28, 2007. Email notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent by May 7, 2007.
