The exhibition runs April 28 through May 25, 2021 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas. Funded in part by the City of Richardson through the Richardson Cultural Arts Commission.
Eligibility: Artwork must be original, executed after April 1, 2018 without instructor supervision, and must not be copies of other artists' work or previously accepted in any RCAS Regional Shows. Accepted categories include Oil/Acrylic on Canvas or Hard Surface, Water Media on Paper, Collage/Mixed Media, and Pastels/Graphics. No sculpture, computer art, photographs, shadow boxes, or assemblage. Graphics are limited to charcoals, pen & ink, colored & graphite pencils, crayons, woodcuts, etchings, and hand-pulled prints. Artwork including nudes, conspicuously religious or blatant political statements will not be accepted. Works that differ substantially from submitted images will be disqualified.
Entry fees are $35 for one piece, $10 for each additional piece (limit three total). RCAS members receive a 25% discount. Approximately $7,000 in cash and merchandise awards will be distributed, including Best of Show (Purchase Award) $1,500, Judge's Choice Award $500, and category awards of $300, $250, $200, and $150 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention respectively. All artwork must be dry, professionally framed with D-rings and wire, and two-dimensional only. Watercolor and fragile media must be under Plexiglas. Selected artists must exhibit their work during the entire show or be disqualified from entry for the following year. If selected for Best of Show, artwork becomes permanent property of the City of Richardson for display in the Richardson Public Library. Entries are submitted through callforentry.org as JPEG files, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB. Submission deadline is March 9, 2021.
