53rd Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition and Sale

The Richardson Civic Art Society presents the 53rd Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition and Sale, open to amateur and professional Texas artists age 18 and over. The exhibition runs May 1-28, 2019 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas. Artwork must be original, executed after April 1, 2017 without instructor supervision, and not previously accepted in any RCAS Regional Shows. Accepted categories include Oil/Acrylic on Canvas or Hard Surface, Water Media on Paper, Collage/Mixed Media, and Pastels/Graphics. Sculpture, computer art, photographs, shadow boxes, and assemblage are not accepted. Artwork including nudes, conspicuously religious or blatant political statements will not be accepted.

Entry fees are $35 for one piece, $10 for each additional piece (maximum three pieces total). RCAS members receive a 25% discount. Artists may submit 1-3 images in JPEG format, minimum 1,200 pixels on the longest side, under 5 MB. The entry deadline is March 8, 2019. Acceptance notifications will be emailed April 5, 2019. Shipped entries must be received between April 15-26, 2019; hand-delivered entries are received April 29, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 pm. Artwork must be picked up May 28, 2019 between 4:00-7:00 pm.

Approximately $7,000 in cash and merchandise awards will be distributed. Best of Show receives a $1,500 purchase award, and the artwork becomes permanent property of the City of Richardson for display in the Richardson Public Library. Judge's Choice Award is $500. Category awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention) are $300, $250, $200, and $150 respectively. The juror is Gene Dillard, a portrait artist. An awards reception will be held May 12, 2019 from 7:00-9:00 pm. A 15% commission to the Eisemann Center and 20% commission to RCAS is required on all sales.
