53rd Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show

The 53rd Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show is open to all U.S. artists. Only work created in the last three years can be entered, and previously exhibited works in the Annual Show are not eligible. Each artist may submit up to three works. Del Mar College full-time Art faculty are excluded.

The exhibition offers $7,500 in purchase awards: one 2-D Purchase Award of $1,500 and two Sculpture Purchase Awards of $3,000 each. Work will be judged by Carlton Bradford, an Associate Professor of sculpture at the University of Arizona. The show runs February 15 through May 3, 2019, in the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery, with an opening reception on February 15 from 6-8 p.m.

Submissions are online only through Callforentry.org and must be received by December 1, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. The entry fee is $20 for up to three entries. All original works on paper (drawing, printmaking, watercolor, photography) and sculptures of any media are considered, except sculptures requiring ceiling suspended installation. Image files must be JPEG format, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and 3 MB maximum. Submit one image per 2-D work and two images per sculpture, with a maximum of six images per artist. Artists will be notified by January 4, 2019. Accepted work must arrive by January 29, 2019.
